The therapeutic effects of OA have been studied in various human diseases in China. However, there is no report about its therapeutic effect in the veterinary clinical practice up to now. Hence, the present studies were performed to investigate effects of OA treatment on carbon tetrachloride (CCl4)-induced acute hepatic injury and the ethylene glycol- induced acute renal injury in dogs, and also to clarify the anti-emetic effect of OA in xylazine-induced vomiting dogs.
