High chlorine content in municipal solid waste and refuse derived fuel results in the challenge for operating waste-to-energy plants, such as high temperature corrosion on the superheater surface and correspondingly low efficiency. Current knowledge is still insufficient in the field of chlorine quantification in MSW and chlorine thermal conversion in WTE boiler. This book is therefore focusing on chlorine characterization in MSW and RDF and its thermal behavior during combustion process.
